Instructions

Follow the steps below to ensure you're making a precise, clean hole in your marble.

  1. Mark the drilling area
Mark your spot with a pencil, then cover it with masking tape to reduce slipping and protect the surface.

  2. Create a pilot dimple
Place the bit gently on the mark and rotate slowly to form a small indentation. This anchors the drill and prevents skidding.

  3. Drill slowly
Start at low speed with light, consistent pressure. Avoid forcing the bit — marble can crack under sudden strain.

  4. Keep the bit cool
Mist the drill bit and hole with water to control heat. If spraying isn’t possible, carefully pour water or dip the bit, protecting surrounding surfaces with towels.

  5. Maintain patience and control
If resistance increases, ease off and continue slowly. Thick slabs take time, rushing risks damage.

  6. Finishing up
When complete, withdraw the bit slowly and steadily to avoid chipping the hole’s edge.

Tips For Success

  • Always wear safety glasses to protect against debris

  • Ensure your workspace is stable and well-lit

  • Keep towels nearby to catch water runoff and protect surrounding finishes

  • If you’re unsure, please seek advice from a professional
