FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is an acrylic bath better for upper floors?
Yes, Haddon acrylic baths are ideal for upper-floor installations due to their lightweight nature. While stone baths can weigh over 120kg, our acrylic models typically weigh between 35kg to 45kg. This significantly reduces the structural load on timber joists and makes acrylic baths much easier for installers to maneuver through tight hallways and staircases without requiring expensive structural floor reinforcement.
Do acrylic baths retain heat well?
Haddon acrylic baths offer excellent thermal insulation. Because acrylic is naturally warm-to-the-touch, it doesn't draw heat away from the water like steel or cast iron. The fiberglass reinforcement acts as an additional insulating barrier, trapping heat within the tub for a longer, more energy-efficient soak. This ensures the water stays at a comfortable temperature from the moment you step in until you finish.
How should I clean my acrylic bath?
To preserve the luminous finish, use a gentle cleaning regime. Daily maintenance should involve a simple rinse with warm water and a wipe-down with a soft microfiber cloth. For deeper cleans, use a mild liquid detergent or diluted white vinegar. You must strictly avoid bleach, ammonia, or abrasive scouring pads, as these can cause surface scratches or chemical "bloom" that dulls the high-gloss aesthetic over time.
How durable is the acrylic reinforcement?
Our baths are constructed from vacuum-formed premium acrylic sheets, which are then heavily reinforced with a specialised fiberglass resin. This dual-layer approach provides excellent structural rigidity and impact resistance. Unlike cheap single-skin baths, Haddon acrylic baths feel solid underfoot and are highly resistant to the warping or cracking that can occur with temperature fluctuations, ensuring a reliable and luxurious bathing experience for many years.
What styles are available in the acrylic range?
The Haddon acrylic collection is designed for versatility, offering everything from organic oval shapes like the Tisbury to ergonomic baths that provide extra back support. Whether you are looking for a modern minimalist rectangle or a traditional freestanding centerpiece, our acrylic range utilises the material's flexibility to create seamless, high-gloss designs that serve as a stunning focal point in any contemporary or heritage-inspired bathroom setting.
