FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What defines a Haddon traditional bath design?
A Haddon traditional bath is a celebration of heritage design, meticulously shaped with timeless lines and enduring craftsmanship. These models, such as the Carlton and Hampton, draw heavy inspiration from historical aesthetics featuring rolled edges and classic shapes yet they feel perfectly at home in today's interiors. By combining traditional design with modern high-performance materials like stone resin and reinforced acrylic, we ensure that your bathroom remains a sophisticated sanctuary that balances traditional beauty with contemporary reliability and comfort.
Can I get a traditional look with modern stone resin?
Yes, many of our most popular traditional designs, including the grand 1800mm Carlton, are crafted from our signature stone resin blend. This allows you to enjoy the authentic, heavy-set aesthetic of a classic period bath while benefiting from advanced material science. Our stone resin provides superior heat retention compared to historical cast iron models and features a non-porous, easy-to-clean surface. This approach ensures you get the heritage look you desire without the maintenance headaches or rapid heat loss associated with genuine antique fixtures.
Are there smaller traditional baths for heritage cottages?
We understand that period properties often have unique spatial constraints, which is why our traditional collection includes a range of sizes. While grand models like the Hampton reach 1756mm, we also offer more compact traditional profiles that provide the same deep-soaking luxury without overwhelming a smaller room. These designs maximise internal space through clever ergonomic shaping, ensuring that even in a tighter layout, you can achieve a high-end, classic focal point that honors the architectural history of your home while providing a modern bathing experience.
What tap configurations work best with traditional baths?
To complete the heritage aesthetic, our traditional baths are designed to pair seamlessly with floor-standing or wall-mounted bath mixers. For a truly authentic look, we recommend finishes such as Polished Nickel or Brushed Gold, which highlight the classic curves of models like the Clairmont. Because many of our traditional baths are freestanding with clean, uninterrupted rims, using a floor-standing mixer adds a sense of architectural grandeur. This setup not only reinforces the 'premium spa' feel but also provides the functional flexibility needed for high-flow filling and a truly indulgent bathing experience.
How does the durability of traditional acrylic compare to stone?
Our traditional acrylic baths, like the Clairmont Light, are engineered to offer the classic look with significantly reduced weight, making them ideal for upper-floor installations in older homes. While stone resin offers a more solid, "permanent" feel, our reinforced acrylic is vacuum-formed and backed with fiberglass for excellent structural integrity. Both materials are UV-resistant and designed to prevent yellowing or fading over time. Choosing between them often comes down to your floor's weight-bearing capacity; however, both options guarantee a high-gloss, premium finish that maintains the elegance of heritage design for years to come.
