FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What are the benefits of choosing a Large bath for a master suite?
▼
A large bath is the ultimate statement of luxury, designed specifically for grand master bathrooms where space is not an issue. The primary benefit is the unparalleled internal space, which allows for a truly Double-Ended bathing experience. With a central waste and symmetrical sloping ends, our large baths like the Carlton or Chester are perfect for couples or for individuals who simply want the room to fully stretch out and recline. The increased thermal mass of a larger stone bath also means it retains heat for an exceptionally long time, allowing for the ultimate long-duration soak. It serves as a commanding architectural anchor that defines the room's layout and elevates the entire property's value.
Does a large stone bath require a reinforced floor?
▼
Our large 1700mm and 1800mm stone baths are substantial pieces of craftsmanship, often weighing over 100kg when empty. When filled with water and an occupant, the total weight is significant. While most modern homes are built to handle such loads, we strongly recommend consulting a structural engineer or a qualified plumber during the planning stage, especially for older properties with timber joists. We provide full technical specifications and weight charts for every model in our large collection to assist with this process. If floor reinforcement isn't an option, we offer many of our large silhouettes in our reinforced acrylic range, providing the same grand scale and aesthetic with a much lighter footprint.
How much water do large baths use, and are they still energy efficient?
▼
While a larger bath naturally requires more water to fill, Haddon baths are designed with high-performance heat retention in mind. Our stone resin material acts as a natural insulator, keeping the water hot for up to three times longer than a standard metal or thin-walled acrylic bath. This means you won't need to keep topping up with fresh hot water during your soak, which can lead to energy savings over time. Furthermore, because the experience is so much more indulgent, many users find that a single deep soak replaces the need for multiple shorter showers. Itβs about investing in a high-quality, efficient piece of engineering that turns a daily necessity into a sustainable, luxury ritual.
