Japanese soaking baths, designed for a calmer end to the day

A Japanese soaking bath is designed for upright immersion, deep enough to reach the shoulders and compact enough to fit a smaller bathroom or ensuite without compromise. The experience is unhurried and restorative, rooted in the slow, daily ritual of traditional Japanese bathing.

Our Japanese soaking baths are hand-finished from stone resin and available in three freestanding designs, each with its own proportions to suit different spaces. An integrated step is included with each bath for easy access, and a chrome waste is included as standard. Each piece is backed by a lifetime guarantee and built to last as a permanent part of the bathroom.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Japanese soaking bath and how does it differ from a standard bath?

A Japanese soaking bath is designed for upright bathing rather than lying flat. The body sits with the water reaching the shoulders, fully immersed, in a deeper but more compact form than a traditional freestanding bath. Our soaking baths take less floor space than a standard bath while giving a more complete and restorative soak. Each comes as a freestanding piece with integrated steps for access and carries a lifetime guarantee.

How easy is it to get in and out of a soaking bath?

Haddon soaking baths include a stone step as part of the design, giving a stable, considered way to enter and exit the bath. The steps are shaped and finished as a single piece rather than a separate addition. As with any deep bath, we recommend stepping in and out with care, particularly when the surface is wet.

How do you clean a soaking bath?

Our soaking baths are made from stone resin and straightforward to care for day to day. A soft cloth and a mild, non-acidic cleaner is all that is needed after each use. Keeping the surface dry between uses helps maintain the finish over time, and the same approach applies to the integrated steps. Avoid anything abrasive or bleach-based, which can affect the surface over time.

How much water does a soaking bath use compared to a standard bath?

Our soaking baths are upright and compact, which means the internal volume is smaller than a standard freestanding bath. The experience of being immersed to the shoulders comes from the shape and depth of the bath rather than the volume of water it holds. Exact capacity for each design is listed on the relevant product page.
