FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why should I choose a Haddon wall hung basin for my bathroom?
A wall hung basin is one of the most effective ways to make a bathroom feel calm and uncluttered. With the floor left clear underneath, the room feels more open and easier to live in, which makes it a particularly good choice for smaller bathrooms, ensuites and cloakrooms. Each basin is hand-finished from stone, natural marble or Travertine, and built to last as a considered, permanent fixture on the wall.
Are wall hung basins heavy and are they easy to install?
Our stone and marble basins have a solid, substantial weight that reflects the quality of the material. They are designed to be straightforward for a professional to fit, fixed securely to the wall using the appropriate wall fixings. We recommend mounting into solid masonry or ensuring a timber noggin is fitted behind the tiles to give the basin a secure, permanent foundation.
How durable are Haddon wall hung basins for everyday use?
Our stone basins are solid all the way through, which makes them naturally resistant to chips and daily wear without any compromise to the surface or finish over time. The material handles changes in water temperature well and is built to maintain its appearance with regular, straightforward care. A Haddon wall hung basin is designed to hold its finish and form as a lasting part of the bathroom.
What is the best way to clean wall hung basins?
Keeping your basin looking as new is very simple because the materials are naturally non porous and antibacterial. For daily cleaning we recommend using a soft damp microfibre cloth with a mild detergent. It is important to dry the basin after use to prevent any mineral build up and maintain the velvet smooth finish.
How should I style the plumbing beneath a wall hung basin?
A wall hung basin leaves the wall and floor visible, which means the plumbing beneath it becomes part of the room. Pairing the basin with a Haddon Nuvo bottle trap in a matching finish, matte black, brushed gold, brushed stainless or chrome, turns a practical detail into a considered one that sits naturally within the overall design.Wall mounted basin taps keep the look clean and uncluttered. For a more classic feel, a deck mounted mixer sits neatly on the basin itself.
Why is a wall hung basin the best choice for small bathrooms or cloakrooms?
A wall hung basin fixes directly to the wall with the floor left completely clear underneath. In a smaller bathroom or cloakroom, this makes a noticeable difference to how the room feels, giving it a lighter, more open quality that a freestanding or pedestal basin cannot achieve in the same space. The open floor beneath the basin also makes the room easier to keep tidy and maintain, which adds a practical quality to what is already a considered design choice. Paired with wall mounted taps, the overall effect is a bathroom that feels calm and well put together regardless of its size.
