Slate basins for a deeper, more considered bathroom

Slate is a finish that brings depth to the bathroom. The rich, dark tone gives the room a strong, settled presence without feeling heavy, and sits particularly well with brushed gold and polished nickel brassware where warmth and contrast are the goal.

Our slate basins are crafted from stone and hand-finished to a smooth, consistent surface that holds its depth and tone over time. The finish suits bathrooms built around a darker, more considered palette, where the aim is a space that feels rich and deliberately put together rather than simply neutral.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How well do slate basins hold up to daily use?

Our slate basins are crafted from stone resin, a dense, non-porous material that handles daily use without absorbing moisture or staining. The surface is solid all the way through, making it naturally resistant to chips and everyday wear. The matte finish is also forgiving of minor water marks, making it one of the more practical finishes in the collection. A soft damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner is all that is needed to keep the surface looking its best over time.

Which tap finishes work well with a slate basin?

Slate sits naturally alongside a range of brassware finishes. Brushed gold adds warmth and contrast, drawing out the depth of the darker stone in a way that feels considered and deliberate. Matte black brassware gives the bathroom a unified, consistent feel where every detail works together. Brushed stainless keeps the look cooler and suits a more minimal, contemporary bathroom.

Are slate basins available in wall hung or countertop designs?

Our slate collection includes both countertop and wall hung designs, giving you the flexibility to choose the mounting style that suits the space. A countertop basin brings the material and colour fully into view on a vanity unit or basin shelf. A wall hung design keeps the floor clear and works particularly well in smaller bathrooms, ensuites and cloakrooms where an open, uncluttered feel is the goal.
