Oval freestanding baths are the purest expression of form and function in harmony. At Haddon, these baths are shaped with flowing curves that soften the geometry of the bathroom, creating a focal point that feels organic and inviting. Crafted in both stone finishes and acrylic materials, each oval bath combines durability with refined design, offering the comfort of a true spa tub in your own home.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What makes the oval shape the best choice for ergonomics?
▼
The oval freestanding bath is widely considered the pinnacle of ergonomic design due to its lack of sharp angles and its natural, body-contouring curves. Our oval models, such as the Bromley and Tisbury, are designed with gently sloped ends that support the back and shoulders perfectly, allowing for a deeper, more comfortable recline. This shape is particularly well-suited for Double Bathing or Dual-Ended use, as the central waste position and symmetrical slopes allow two people to bathe comfortably at either end, making it the ultimate choice for a romantic or highly indulgent home spa experience.
Is an oval freestanding bath suitable for smaller bathroom layouts?
▼
Surprisingly, oval baths are often more space-efficient than rectangular models in compact bathrooms. Because the corners are rounded off, they create more visual floor space, which makes the room feel less cluttered. This also improves the flow of the bathroom, as there are no sharp edges to navigate around in tight quarters. We offer a variety of lengths in the oval collection, from 1400mm to 1800mm, ensuring that even if you have a smaller footprint, you can still enjoy the soft, sculptural aesthetic of a freestanding oval tub without compromising on movement or accessibility within the room.
How does the weight of an oval stone bath compare to a rectangle?
▼
While the material density remains the same, oval stone baths often have a slightly lower overall weight than rectangular models of the same length because there is less material in the rounded corners. However, they still possess the substantial feel that characterises Haddon stone. This slight weight reduction can be an advantage during installation on upper floors, though we still advise a structural assessment for our 1700mm+ stone models. The oval shape’s structural integrity is inherently high, as the curved walls act as natural arches, providing incredible strength and resistance to the water pressure without any risk of bowing or flexing over time.
